With the continuous evolution of war forms and the upgrading of weapons and equipment, the air battlefield situation is becoming more and more complex. Quickly and accurately identifying the combat intention of the target is an important content of battlefield situation assessment, which can provide auxiliary information for commanders to make decisions and help them to seize the initiative in the war. This paper firstly introduces the basic concepts and related models of target intention recognition, defines the concepts of target intention and intention recognition, and determines the status and importance of target intention recognition from two aspects of the operational command decision-making process and information fusion process. Secondly, target features and intention space, as input attributes and recognition framework for intention recognition respectively, are the basis of intention recognition and are reviewed. Then, five common target intention recognition methods such as rule and template matching, evidence theory, Bayesian network, traditional machine learning and neural network are reviewed. The basic mechanism and recognition process of each recognition method are introduced, and its advantages and disadvantages are summarized. Finally, the performance of five kinds of target combat intention recognition methods is compared and analyzed, and the future research direction is prospected.

Multi-rotor drones are increasingly becoming a threat to critical facilities while bringing convenience. This article focuses on the difficulty of tracking and detecting low slow small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and develops a UAV tracking, detection, recognition, and positioning system based on microphone array sound source localization. The system acquires UAV noise signals in real time, and then uses a wavelet transform-based beamforming time-frequency sound source localization algorithm for UAV noise source localization, and finally integrates the position of the multi-rotor UAV obtained by inversion of the microphone array and the image captured by the video. Tests conducted in a fully anechoic room have shown that the positioning system can accurately track the lateral flight and up-and-down flight of drones, accurately detect the position of drones even in blind spots of cameras, and effectively compensate for video detection. And the positioning accuracy of the system is 92.2%, which is better than that of similar systems.

In April 2021, the U.S. Air Force Doctrine Development and Education Center officially released “Air Force Doctrine Publication 1: The Air Force” (AFDP-1) (March 10, 2021 Edition), completing a major update to the Air Force Basic Doctrine Volumes 1 and 2, which serve as the most fundamental doctrine of the U.S. Air Force and will guide the combat operation for a long time. In the updated AFDP-1 doctrine, it is clearly stated that the mission-based command should be regarded as the basic concept of the air force command and control, and the traditional principle of "centralized control and decentralized execution" should be replaced by "centralized command, distributed control and decentralized execution", in order to accommodate the continuous evolution of operational concept, system architecture and equipment form, and lay the foundation for gaining advantages in major power competition and strong enemy confrontation. In view of such significant changes in the fundamental doctrine, this paper will conduct an in-depth analysis from the aspects of background and motivations, principles and implementation of mission-based command, and its relationship with traditional command paradigm, and gain the insight into the connotation behind such transformation. This paper summarizes the enlightenment and significance brought by this change, which will provide a reference for the future development planning.

In view of the dynamic nature of air target track, time sequence variation and multiple intentions in battlefield, this paper proposes a recognition method based on end-to-end generic attribute learning, which is used as the basic framework of intelligent multi-intention recognition model. By integrating the time sequence features and attribute characteristics of the target track, the unified input coding information is compressed and modified to encapsulate the knowledge and experience of experts as labels, and the commander's thinking mode of wartime situation judgment is learned to eliminate the interference factors brought by its concealment, deception and confrontation, so as to obtain the complex tactical intention of the specific target. Through the simulation experiment, the common multi-classification evaluation system is used to analyze the influence of the end-to-end training method on the results, and the comparison analysis with the relevant methods shows that the proposed algorithm is more effective and valuable for multi-intention recognition, and can be used to support the establishment of the correlation between non-cooperative targets and defense important places in the combat planning system.

Aiming at the complex battlefield situation and diversified weapons and equipments in the modern battlefield, a typical air defense scene model is constructed. Mathematical model and the program, and the pre-optimization design scheme of the defense resources deployment under multiple constraints are obtained by using intelligent solution algorithm. Optimization design and solution are carried out in typical scenarios by using the nested genetic algorithm for the coverage issues of the detecting perceptual resources, and the intercepting and striking resources. The results show that the nested optimization algorithm can optimize the deployment of operational elements of air defense in typical scenes in a short time. Compared with traditional experience-based methods, the resource deployment scheme given by the optimization design has a higher value of space coverage ratio.

However, networked and integrated operations increase the risk of weapon systems suffering from cyber attacks while improving combat effectiveness, which will seriously threaten network security and combat effectiveness of combat equipment. Taking the U.S. tactical-level air and missile defense system as an example, according to its networked combat characteristics, this paper analyzes the security vulnerabilities of the air and missile defense network, and constructs an assessment model to analyze the probabilities of destroying network nodes. Three indicators are designed and used to evaluate the network performance loss of the node suffered network attack. The OPNET platformand the NetworkX are used to carry out network simulation experiments. Based on the evaluation results, the network defense strategies are proposed to provide reference for the improvement of the security defense capability.
